US banking giant Citi has relocated an executive from New York to Australia to head debt capital markets in the region.

Citi has appointed David Bailey as the head of debt capital markets Australia and New Zealand, according to a statement. In the role, he will report to Alex Cartel, head of capital markets and advisory in Australia as well as regionally to Adrian Khoo, head of Asia North & Australia, Asia South bonds and Ben Ng, head of Asia North & Australia, Asia South loans and syndicate.

Bailey returns to Australia after previously holding a number of senior roles for Citi in the country. He is currently the US lender’s head of cross-border capital markets in New York.
