London-headquartered Standard Chartered has announced a series of senior appointments to its transaction banking leadership team.

Standard Chartered has appointed Sofia Hammoucha as global head of trade & working capital, according to a statement, based in Singapore. She succeeds Kai Fehr, who has decided to move back to his home country of Germany to spend more time with his family.  

Hammoucha joined Standard Chartered in 2022 as head of risk for transaction banking. Previously, she worked at BNP Paribas for 22 years across risk management, internal audit, business development, strategy, leadership and change management in Europe and Asia Pacific, including her last role as head of transaction banking for ASEAN.

Singapore Head

The bank also appointed Ankur Kanwar as head of transaction banking, Singapore and ASEAN, based in Singapore. He succeeds Maisie Chong who will continue in her role as global head of receivables purchase as well as head of trade and working capital for ASEAN and South Asia.

Kanwar has more than 20 years of industry experience, holding several roles in transaction banking, treasury and finance across Asia and the US. Prior to joining Standard Chartered in 2015, he worked at J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank.
