Union Bancaire Privée has expanded its North Asia team with hires from three rival private banks.

UBP has appointed Ivan Tam as team head and Calvin Poon as relationship manager, according to a statement. Based in Hong Kong, Poon reports to Tam who reports to Teresa Lee, chief executive Hong Kong and region head North Asia.

Tam has over 20 years of wealth management experience in Greater China, most recently as a senior director of relationship management at HSBC Global Private Banking. Previously, he also worked at Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered.

Poon joins from Deutsche Bank’s wealth arm where he was a director and relationship manager. Prior to that, he worked at Standard Chartered.

Investment Hire

In addition, the bank has also hired Leslie Ching as a Hong Kong-based lead investment consultant, ultra-high net worth, reporting to Lee.

Ching was most recently an executive director and investment counselor at Bank of Singapore. Previously, he also worked at HSBC and EFG.
