Canadian insurer Manulife has named a chief agency officer for its Hong Kong and Macau businesses.

Manulife Hong Kong and Macau has appointed Albert Mak as chief agency officer, according to a statement, reporting to Rishi Srivastava, chief agency officer, Asia, and Ivan Chan, chief distribution officer, Hong Kong and Macau.

In the role, Mak will lead various agency functions to drive growth in the insurer's over 10,000-strong agency force across Hong Kong and Macau. His responsibilities include leading the team to achieve sales, productivity and recruitment goals.

Mak has 15 years of experience and joined Manulife in 2019. Since January 2023, he has led the agency force’s business development and training team. Previously, he also worked at HSBC and Standard Chartered.
