A former Citi executive has joined alternatives manager Carlyle to lead its wealth division for Asia Pacific.
Carlyle has appointed Brad McCarthy as managing director and head of Asia Pacific, Carlyle Global Wealth, according to a statement. Based in Singapore, he will be responsible for expanding the firm’s wealth platform across APAC with a focus on enhancing client offerings and broadening access for high net worth investors. He will also oversee the institutional wealth channel for Australia and New Zealand.
McCarthy has 25 years of wealth and asset management experience, most recently as APAC head of alternative investment sales at Citi Private Bank and Global Wealth. Prior to that, he was head of Asia at Permal. Previously, he also worked at ABN AMRO Asset Management and BT Financial Group.
