Paris-headquartered BNP Paribas has appointed a new regional head for Southeast Asia.

BNP Paribas has appointed Karine Delvallée as regional head for Southeast Asia and Singapore branch CEO, according to a statement. In the role, she will be responsible for leading operations across five key Southeast Asian markets – Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam – driving the bank’s growth strategy with a focus on strengthening client relationships.

She previously served as CEO of BNP Paribas Australia and New Zealand and will continue to supervise the two markets on behalf of APAC CEO Paul Yang.

Delvallée has more than 30 years of financial experience and has been with BNP Paribas since 1993. Prior to her role as Australia and New Zealand chief, she also served as the bank’s APAC chief risk officer, APAC head of risk for corporates and head of analysts and credit management for the energy and commodities business.
