A week after AWT reported on Singaporean tycoon Peter Lim’s Valencia qualifying for the Champions League here one more Asian owner will line up with his charges hoping to make it through to the extremely lucrative group stages.
Vincent Tan was on hand to watch as FK Sarajevo won their domestic league and with it secure Champions League football.
FK Sarajevo the club Tan purchased in 2013 after first becoming a football owner with Cardiff City in 2010, took top spot in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League.
Should FK Sarajevo make it through they could be paired with the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester United bringing substantial gate receipts and television revenue.
Vincent Tan now owns three clubs in Europe having recently purchased the Belgian first division club KV Kortrijkt. The price for the West Flanders-based outfit is said to have been in the region of five million Euros.
