UBS Wealth Management has announced that its application to launch a new wealth management service, UBS Advice, had been approved by the Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission. UBS Advice will be launched in July 2015.
Already available to UBS clients in Hong Kong and Singapore, UBS Advice will soon be available in Taiwan to offshore high net worth individuals allowing them to negotiate an increasingly fast moving and risky globally interlinked market.
"UBS Advice provides our clients with an enhanced client experience. As an active investment manager, our priority is to help clients not only preserve their wealth but also achieve their desired investment performance," said Chang Lin-yun, Head of UBS Strategic Investment Taiwan.
"Supported by state-of-the-art technology, previously available only to institutional clients, UBS Advice, offers a unique experience to wealth management clients in Taiwan."
Dennis Chen, Group Managing Director and Head of Wealth Management Taiwan added: "With its structured advisory approach, the service has the potential to transform the wealth management business in Taiwan."
UBS has had a presence in Taiwan since 1988, and has offered wealth management solutions to high net worth individuals since 2000. In 2008, UBS WM Taiwan was granted licenses to open bank branches in Taichung and Kaohsiung.
