The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) have announced that its Executive Director of Enforcement, Mr Mark Steward will be leaving in September.
Mr Steward will take up a similar position with the UK Financial Conduct Authority. The SFC’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ashley Alder, said: "Mark has been instrumental in achieving great outcomes both for investors and for the market during his nine years with the Commission, making the fullest use of all our powers, remedies and sanctions."
"These methods are now hard-wired into the way we operate so that the SFC can build on its strong track record in enforcement in the best interests of Hong Kong’s markets and for the protection of the investing public."
"On behalf of the SFC, I would like to thank Mark for his tireless efforts in achieving such great outcomes during his tenure and I wish him all the best in his new role," Mr Alder added.
Mr Steward said: "I am very grateful for the opportunity to have worked with so many hard working and courageous colleagues who will no doubt maintain and further strengthen the SFC’s enforcement capability."
The SFC will commence a global recruitment exercise for Mr Steward’s replacement.
