Eversheds has launched its consulting arm in Asia with the introduction of Eversheds Agile, which provides lawyers to in-house legal teams on a temporary, contract basis. Eversheds Agile will initially have a pool of between 20 and 30 lawyers in Asia.
Cavenagh Law, the Singapore Formal Law Alliance (FLA) firm of Clifford Chance, has hired Carol Anne Tan as the head of its real estate practice for Southeast Asia.
Tan, who was previously a partner with WongPartnership, has more than 20 years of experience on real estate-related transactions, including property divestments, acquisition financing, joint ventures, real estate funds and commercial work.
Singapore’s TSMP Law Corporation has hired Anand Nalachandran as a director from local firm Braddell Brothers, and also promoted counsel Yvonne Lee to the same position. Nalachandran and Lee will form part of the firm’s Financial and Technology Crimes and Investigations desk.
Anderson Mori and Tomotsune has expanded into Vietnam with the launch of an office in Ho Chi Minh City. Anderson Mori partner Yasufumi Miki is heading the new office.
Finally law firm Ogier has announced a firm-wide brand refresh.
Since it completed its successful MBO of its fiduciary services division in 2014, Ogier is exclusively focused on law, specialising in corporate, finance, funds, dispute resolution and private client work.
“Since the MBO we’ve taken the opportunity to review our strategy, our position in the market and the factors that set us apart from others,” said Ogier’s Global Managing Partner, Nick Kershaw.
The new identity will be applied across the eight jurisdictions in which Ogier operates: BVI, Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey, Luxembourg, Shanghai and Tokyo.
