BNP Paribas announced the appointment of Aymar de Liedekerke Beaufort as Head of Country for Vietnam and Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas S.A. Ho Chi Minh City branch. De Liedekerke Beaufort succeeds Luc Cardyn, who will move to another senior role within BNP Paribas. Aymar reports to Pierre Veyres, Regional Head for South East Asia and CEO of BNP Paribas Singapore.
In Hong Kong Standard Life Investments, the global asset manager, stated the appointments of two multi-asset investment specialists in Asia. Jason Yu and Dongyue Zhang have been appointed as Investment Directors within the Global Investment Specialist team.
Deepening its commitment to the fast-growing Asian markets, Nikko Asset Management has promoted seasoned executives in Singapore and Hong Kong to lead client development and further strengthen its institutional and intermediary businesses throughout Asia. Eleanor Seet has been promoted to the head of Asia ex-Japan to further bolsterthe Tokyo-based firm’s position as Asia’s premier global asset manager. To support the company’s delivery of integrated solutions to investors throughout Asia, the company has promoted Yasuaki Ogiwara to president of Nikko AssetManagement Hong Kong Limited.
Northern Trust has appointed a head of investment risk and analytical services for the Asia Pacific region. Simon Willcox will be based in Singapore and will lead the delivery of technology, reporting and consulting services for institutional investors and asset managers.
Edmond de Rothschild has named Jing Zhang Brogle as the new CEO of the Swiss bank’s Hong Kong market, effective 1 August. Brogle will focus on developing the private banking business, leveraging her multi-family office expertise.
JP Morgan Australia appointed Alexander Ordon as key account manager, northern region. Mr Ordon will be responsible for the development of the firm’s business in New South Wales and Queensland.
Joel Rothstein has joined Sidley Austin LLP as a partner in the Real Estate group. He will continue his focus on structured finance, complex joint ventures and cross-border transactions in both Asia and the United States. He will be based in the firm's Los Angeles office and will also spend considerable time in the Asia offices in connection with working on the firm's development of its Asia real estate platform.
Professional Investment Advisory Services Pte Ltd (PIAS), a leading financial advisory firm in Singapore which is majority owned by Aviva of UK, has announced the appointment of Winson Yap as their Chief Distribution Officer. Yap has close to two decades of life insurance and financial advisory experience. The role of the Chief Distribution Officer is a new and strategically created function within PIAS.
Finally in Australia UBS has appointed a director of product development, a director of institutional business development and a marketing manager to its global asset management team.
Vasco Gil joins UBS from Russell Investments, where he was product manager. As director of the UBS product development and management team, he will manage the lifecycle of UBS' Australian managed funds.
James Duck has been appointed director of the institutional business development team, which is responsible for growing UBS' business in Australia and building client relationships.
Jennifer Alker takes on the new role of marketing manager and will be responsible for overseeing UBS' marketing activities and supporting the group's growth initiatives in Australia.
