We are now well into September so here is our second round up of the month featuring some senior moves around the region.
In Australia Nikko Asset Management Australia has named a new head of institutional business. Eddy Schipper has been appointed to the newly created role of institutional business head.
Mercer has appointed a new chief customer and marketing officer to the Pacific leadership team. Renee McGowan has been promoted to the role of chief customer and marketing officer. She will be responsible for the firm’s customer experience capability and leading the consolidated consumer and business marketing function.
In Singapore Jupiter Asset Management has added to its sales team and has hired Madeline Han as associate sales director. She will report to David Conway, sales director for Asia Pacific. The UK investment manager now has 10 people based in Asia, with seven in Singapore and three in Hong Kong.
EXIGER, the global regulatory and financial crime, risk and compliance firm have announced the appointment of Vanson Soo as a Director for EXIGER’s Asia Pacific region, Soo will be based in the firm’s Hong Kong office.

The past week witnessed a flurry of activity in the legal sector across the region here are the main moves:
Reed Smith has hired Gregory Wang as a partner in Hong Kong from Morrison & Foerster, and two local partners in Singapore – Calvin Chan and Kohe Hasan – from Skadden and Oon & Bazul respectively.
Baker Botts has hired Michael Arruda, Joanne Du and Phillip Georgiou as partners from Jones Day’s Hong Kong office. The new partners will be based in Hong Kong and Beijing.
In Shanghai Han Kun Law Offices has taken eight partners from the operations of AllBright Law Offices specifically, David Tang, James Miao, Andy Liao, Michael Mao, David Huang, Jun Li, Min Zhu and Will Huang.
