Melbourne headquartered ANZ has announced the appointment of a new CEO for Singapore with additional responsibility for the South East Asia and India region.
The new Chief Executive David Green is a highly credentialed banker with nearly 30 years’ experience in Institutional Banking across State Bank of South Australia in New Zealand, Bancorp New Zealand and Deutsche Bank. He will report to Group Executive International, Farhan Faruqui, ANZ said in a note.
Green will replace outgoing Vishnu Shahaney, who will soon be announced in a new role with ANZ after seven years with the Singapore business.
Since joining ANZ in 2005, Green has been responsible for ANZ’s Institutional business in New Zealand, as well as leading the bank’s wholesale digital strategy from 2015. He has been an Executive Board Member of the New Zealand-China Council since its establishment in 2012, helping to guide the important bilateral trade relationship and contributing to New Zealand’s economic development on behalf of ANZ.
