Switzerland’s largest bank UBS, has appointed a Chief Information Officer from a rival global bank. The new hire will take up the role in mid-September.
Swiss banking giant UBS has appointed Singapore based Michael Dargan as its new chief information officer. A report by Reuters news agency said the move had been confirmed by the bank.
Dargan was previously the Chief Information Officer for corporate and institutional banking at Standard Chartered Bank. He had been with the U.K. headquartered bank since 2009. Prior to that he had held the post of Managing Director, Head of Corporate Strategy & M&A, EMEA and PacRim at Merrill Lynch in Singapore,Hong Kong and London.
Dargan will be joining the executive committee of Chief Operating Officer Axel Lehmann, from mid-September. Lehmann has led the group technology unit on an interim basis since the end of March 2016, following the departure of the bank's former CIO Oliver Bussman.
