Singapore has proven its mettle as a technology innovator by luring a prominent U.S. blockchain expert to a key advisory panel set up by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, MAS.

It's another high-profile role for Blythe Masters: the prominent boss of a fintech firm and former veteran J.P. Morgan investment banker is part of a technology panel set up by Singapore. The 15-member group is tasked with  advising the city-state on fintech and how the city-state can harness new technologies.

Masters, who has emerged as one of the most vocal proponents after setting up fintech Digital Asset last year, is one of 15 members of the International Technology Advisory Pane, or ITAP.

Global Ambitions

She is in prominent company: other members of the panel are Tim Grant, who is head of blockchain standards startup R3 CEV which also partners with UBS and Credit Suisse, and Vikram Pandit, former Citigroup boss and now investor in financial services companies.

As reported by finews.asia, ITAP held an initial meeting under the leadership of Tharman Shanmugaratnam, head of MAS.

The 47-year-old Masters, who has made a splash in Switzerland through the takeover of Zurich-based startup Elevence, is marking a global presence with her Singapore engagement. In Asia-Pacific, her firm is already an advisor to Australia's main exchange operator ASX.
