Multinational Hong Kong headquartered legal firm King & Wood Mallesons has added a partner, who has successfully closed over 30 IPOs, to its growing Corporate & Securities practice.
John Baptist Chan, who specialises in corporate finance, capital markets and mergers and acquisitions law joins the firm with immediate effect. Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) he worked in other leading international law firms, Clifford Chance and Linklaters, and investment banks based in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and London, including Citi.

He has practised Hong Kong law for over 12 years and his major clients include Hong Kong, Chinese and multinational companies as well as leading investment banks and financial institutions.
John Baptist is a leading ECM lawyer and has successfully closed over 30 IPOs and secondary offerings, with a total value of over $25 billion, including landmark IPOs such as HTSC, Bank of Communications, Haitong Securities and China Huishan Dairy.
Earlier this year the firm expanded its partnership to include Anthony Wan, an IPO specialist and Peter Bullock, a specialist in dispute resolution for a broad range of technology sector clients. KWM now has 28 partners based in Hong Kong.
