J. Safra Sarasin in Singapore has appointed a new Managing Director to lead a team covering the Indonesia and Southeast Asia markets.
Bank J. Safra Sarasin has appointed Sutarmin Lili as a Managing Director, Client Advisory, effective 8 November 2016 the bank said in a statement today.
In his new role Lili will manage a team primarily covering the Indonesia and Southeast Asian markets. He will report to Benedikt Maissen, (pictured) Chief Executive Officer, Singapore, and will be based at Bank J. Safra Sarasin’s Singapore Branch.
Lili joins J. Safra Sarasin from Julius Baer, Singapore, where he had been a Managing Director since 2010, and was named to the Presidents’ Club in 2014 and 2015.
He joined Julius Baer from UBS, where he had been an Executive Director since 2008. Prior to UBS, Lili worked at PT Bank Lippo in Jakarta, where he was a Managing Director, Commercial Banking from 2005 to 2008 and Head of the Commercial Banking Group from 2000 to 2004.
From 1998 to 2000 he worked at Bank Paribas Indonesia as Head of Corporate Banking. Beginning his banking career in 1989, Lili has also worked at Standard Chartered in Jakarta, PT Bank Danamon Indonesia and Citibank N.A. in Jakarta.
