Australia’s ANZ is seldom out of the news these days. Now they have made a senior addition to their business from rival Deutsche Bank.
David Plank has been appointed Head of Australian Economics, in his new role he will report to Richard Yetsenga, ANZ Chief Economist. He will be responsible for leading the Australian Economics team, as well as providing macroeconomic analysis and insight on the Australian economy. He is due to commence the new position in February 2017.
Plank joins ANZ from Deutsche Bank, where he held the positions of Head of Fixed Income and Credit Research Asia Pacific and Head of Macro Research and Strategy Australia & New Zealand.
Incumbent Stepping Down
Prior to this he worked for Bankers Trust in a number of economist and strategy roles before it merged with Deutsche Bank in 1999.
Plank succeeds Felicity Emmett who will continue as Senior Economist after deciding to step down from the role earlier this year.
