On the back of a strong year for Citi's Debt Capital Markets team in Australia and New Zealand the U.S. bank has named a new leadership.

Ian Campbell has been promoted to Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets for Citi in Australia and New Zealand.

In the new role he will be reporting to John McLean, Head of Capital Markets Origination, the bank said in a note sent to finews.asia.

One month ago it was announced Campbell was appointed Managing Director, and with immediate effect becomes Head of Debt Capital Markets for Citi in Australia and New Zealand.

Largest Market Share in 2016

He joined Citi in 2010 from Daiwa where he had roles in Fixed Income Research in London and Capital Markets Origination in Australia. At Citi he has been instrumental in building Citi’s Australian DCM franchise and broadening the firm’s client relationships.

Campbell and his team had a strong 2016, with Citi having the largest market share of debt capital market issuance for investment grade Australian and New Zealand companies, in all currencies.

Capital Markets and Private Banking

At the end of 2016 Citigroup tasked a high-ranking executive with more effectively fostering business leads between its wealth management arm and its investment bank in Asia.

The American bank named Kevin Lam as business development head for private, corporate and investment banking.
