Private Banks, investment banks and asset managers were active in making senior appointments in Hong Kong last week. So who went where?
Columbia Threadneedle hired Tommy Ho as Director of wholesale distribution in Hong Kong. Ho joined the British based manager from Syz Asset Management (Syz AM).
As finews.asia reported, Syz AM pulled out of Asia recently however its former sales staff have been quickly acquired with Vontobel Asset Management appointing another former Syz AM employee Suzanna Wong as Head of Intermediary Sales Asia.

Japan’s Mizuho has hired Pramod Shenoi for the new role of head of Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Fixed Income Group for Asia ex-Japan. In the new position Shenoi reports to Anthony Shum, Head of DCM Asia ex-Japan. Both bankers are based in Hong Kong. Shenoi was previously based in Singapore where he worked for Standard Chartered.
Also in Hong Kong EFG Bank hired Lily Gu as an equity specialist into its Asian investment team. She will report to Jaye Chiu, Head of Investment at EFG Bank Hong Kong.
Before joining EFG, Gu was an Investment Consultant Associate for high net worth and ultra high net worth clients with Coutts until July 2016. Gu’s appointment will augment regional client relationship officers recommendations on Asian equities with a particular geographical focus on North Asia.
Last year EFG completed the purchase of troubled bank BSI's Asian units in Singapore and Hong Kong.
