Ahead of the firm’s imminent merger with Chadbourne & Parke, Norton Rose Fulbright has restructured its Asia management.

Norton Rose Fulbright has appointed Hong Kong corporate partner Psyche Tai as the new head of Hong Kong office, while in Singapore the banking and finance partner Yu-En Ong has been named to head the Singapore office.

As a result of the changes the current head of North Asia and Hong Kong, corporate partner Phillip John, will retire from the firm at the end of August 2017.

The head of South East Asia Jeff Smith will relocate from Singapore to London, taking on a consultant role to support client relationships in Asia.

Strong And Vibrant Future

The Asia management structure overhaul will also see Norton Rose Fulbright create a new pan regional position with Singapore project finance and banking partner Nick Merritt named as head of Asia business strategy.

«Norton Rose Fulbright remains strongly committed to the Asian region, we see significant opportunities for many of our global and Asian clients investing in a region which clearly has a strong and vibrant future and will be a key driver for global growth,» said Martin Scott Norton Rose Fulbright Managing Partner EMEA.

Earlier this month Norton Rose Fulbright announced the appointment of an Of Counsel in its Singapore-based technology and innovation team.
