Credit Suisse said it is rolling out a digital private bank for wealthy clients in the U.K., expanding the app outside of Asia for European clients.

Zurich-based Credit Suisse launched its digital private banking app for clients booked in the U.K. on Tuesday, according to a memorandum from European private bank head Claudio de Sanctis and operating chief Marcel Schuler seen by finews.asia.

The app is meant to give clients access to their portfolios whenever they want it, as well as provide the bank's investment and research library.

Asia Collaboration

Britain is the fourth country for Credit Suisse to roll out the digital app. The bank launched in Singapore last spring, adding Hong Kong and Taiwan later in the year.

«There has been intense collaboration between the bank’s innovation hub in Singapore, international wealth management chief operating officer and Credit Suisse U.K. to ensure a successful integration into the U.K. landscape,» de Sanctis and Schuler said in the memo.

Fostering the Digital Push

Four months ago, the bank appointed Anke Bridge as its digital head in Switzerland, which is fostering the digital private banking push.

Clients can view their portfolio groups, performances, positions, allocations, transactions and cash activities as well as news from third-party providers. The bank said it will roll out new features and improvements such as e-documents and multi-device capabilities in phases.
