CGS-CIMB Securities has appointed private wealth veteran Simon Lim Say Boon as chief investment strategist, according to a Facebook post by Group CEO Carol Fong this week.
In his new role, Lim will work with the firm's research team to expand client services in macro strategy, asset allocation, FX strategy, and financial planning, the post said.
The firm is a 50-50 joint venture between Malaysia's CIMB Group and China Galaxy International Financial Holdings, offering a suite of investment and financial solutions for retail and institutional clients. Its research team offers comprehensive research coverage of over 800 stocks in the region.

Say Boon has 28 years in banking and finance in Asia, including roles as Chief Investment Officer at DBS Bank, Chief Investment Strategist at Standard Chartered Bank, Group Wealth Management & Private Bank Director at Citigroup Private Bank.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Lim is currently a non-executive director of Melbourne based civil engineering firm SMEC, non-executive director of Changi Airports International, and senior advisor of Hong Kong-based ETF specialist Premia Partners.
