He brings a deep understanding of the APAC (re)insurance markets, having worked in a number of senior roles at Lloyd’s, following his completion of the firm's graduate scheme in 2008.

Specialist insurance and reinsurance market Lloyd's has appointed Pavlos Spyropoulos as country manager, Singapore and CEO, Lloyd’s Asia, the firm announced in a statement on Monday.

In addition, Spyropoulos was recently been elected as a new member of the Singapore Reinsurer’s Association (SRA) executive committee for 2020-2021. In his new role, he will report to Iain Ferguson, regional director APAC and president, Lloyd’s Japan. 

Spyropoulos joined Lloyd's in 2010 and moved to Singapore in 2014 to become its market development manager for Lloyd's Asia. He was most recently head of market development, Asia Pacific, responsible for working with Lloyd’s regional network to develop the market’s presence, strategy, and stakeholder management in the region.

Key Distribution Hub

Lloyd’s Asia is a key distribution hub for the Lloyd’s market in Asia Pacific, providing brokers and clients in the region with local access to specialist products and expertise.

Since opening in Singapore in 1999, Lloyd’s Asia has grown to more than 200 underwriters, representing 18 syndicates and offering 47 classes of business.
