The senior executive joins from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), where he held a number of senior roles in Hong Kong and New York.

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) is aiming to improve its cybersecurity and technology resilience with the appointment of Brian Lee as group head of Technology Risk, the bourse announced on Monday.

Reporting to group risk officer John Killian, Lee will oversee HKMA's cybersecurity protection, as well as its management and governance framework.

Working closely with the Risk group, he will also be enhancing the group’s policies and guidelines, and perform risk assessments across the group, HKEX said in a statement.

Extensive Experience

Lee brings a wealth of industry experience, having spent 25 years at HKMA, where he was most recently a division head of the Banking Policy department. Prior to that, he was the division head of Operational and Technology Risk, chief representative of the New York representative office, and a division head of the Banking Supervision department.
