big xyt, an independent provider of smart data and analytics solutions to the global trading and investment community, is increasing its global footprint with an expansion to Asia Pacific.
To support its regional ambitions, the company has hired Philip Barnes to its executive team as managing director, Asia Pacific head of business development, big xyt announced on Tuesday.
Barnes brings a wealth of experience in the financial services industry, and has deep market knowledge and and an extensive network in Asia Pacific gained from 25 years working in the region. He joins big xyt from strategic business development and management consultancy Amaggio Partners, where he was founding partner and chief commercial officer. He previously worked for Thomson Financial, Sungard, Broadridge, Fidessa and NYSE Euronext.

big xyt’s clients include major global investment banks, exchanges, trading venues and regulatory bodies. Its global ecosystem for tick data analytics covering more than 120 trading venues, across equities, ETFs, FX, futures and options.
The platform also provides buy-side clients with the ability to integrate their own business logic and proprietary data with big xyt’s technology, enabling them to better analyze their trading strategies and investment decisions as best execution practices.
