She was previously senior vice president of United Overseas Bank’s fintech, ecosytstem, and innovation division.
Sleek has appointed Pauline Sim as its new head of fintech and strategic partnerships, the startup announced in a statement on Tuesday.
In her new role, Sim will oversee the company's development of financial services and digital solutions. She will also lead the company’s new business verticals expansion projects, which include an AI-driven customer platform and automations, Sleek said.
New Markets
Founded in 2017, Sleek helps businesses with governance, accounting and tax matters. It expanded to Hong Kong in 2019 and raised $4 million in venture funding in 2020 in a round led by Enterprise Singapore’s investment arm Seeds Capital to help with its expansion into new markets in Asia.
Sim brings a wealth of leadership and banking industry experience to the fintech, having started her career at UOB some 20 years ago. She later spent almost 10 years at Standard Chartered Bank, before rejoining UOB, where she worked with SME customers as FVP, strategic alliance, business banking, and later on fintech acceleration and collaboration projects and co-head of its FinLab, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Invaluable Addition
Sim was also part of the Singapore Fintech Association's executive committee in 2018-2019 and served as the lead for its Women in Fintech subcommittee.
«Her credentials and wealth of experience in the SMEs and start-up landscape will prove to be an invaluable addition to Sleek’s goals and help propel us to greater heights,» Julien Labruyere, Sleek co-founder and CEO, said.
