The bank appointed a former managing director of Lazard as its head of marketing. The new hire is the 11th person to join top management under CEO Zeno Staub.
The Swiss-based bank is hiring Henry Detering as its head of market and analytics, it said in a statement on Monday. Detering replaces Patrick Farinato in the job, who had left the bank earlier this year.
Vontobel CEO Zeno Staub said he is looking to Detering to deliver a targeted and technology-embedded client experience. «To achieve this, we will need to work together across Vontobel on a truly holistic distribution strategy for our investment solutions,» Staub said.
Reinvented Identity
The appointment comes 18 months after Staub reinvented the Swiss firm as an investment house by doing away with separate wealth management, investment banking, and asset management units. Detering, who is American, was most recently a managing director at Lazard's asset management in New York, where he was responsible for global marketing.
In total, Detering spent 20 years at Lazard, in two separate stints. Vontobel is moving him to Zurich, where he will be part of an 11-person management committee led by Staub which includes the heads of its primary businesses as well as executives with wider roles like digital boss Toby Triebel.
