OCBS's private banking arm, Bank of Singapore, will be appointing a new CEO after announcing the retirement of its current chief executive Bahren Shaari.
Veteran banker Bahren Shaari will retire from his position as chief executive of Bank of Singapore (BoS) by end of December 2022, according to OCBC.
His successor will be announced «as and when it is appropriate», OCBC said, and in the interim, OCBC’s outgoing group chief risk officer Vincent Choo will succeed Shaari in January 2023.
More Than 30 Years of Banking
Shaari, who has more than 30 years of banking experience, expressed his gratitude for his stint at the bank in a public post on his social media account. He took over as the CEO of BoS in February 2015.
«I'm immensely grateful and proud of the 13 years I’ve spent at BoS, Asia’s global private bank. It has been a great privilege for me to work with a team of dedicated colleagues who are the best at what they do,» he wrote.
