Coinbase is upgrading its retail offering in Singapore by allowing customers to freely move funds between their crypto and local bank accounts.
Coinbase will allow customers in Singapore to move funds to and from accounts via local banks, according to a statement. The zero-fee transfers, in Singapore dollars, are facilitated by new strategic partner Standard Chartered.
Previously, Coinbase users could only use Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card to buy or transfer crypto.
The US-listed crypto exchange also introduced a two-click tool to allow greater ease in joining its platform.
Global Expansion
The introduction of transferals in the city-state is part of broader plans at Coinbase to expand globally.
«As we prepare to ramp up our international expansion over the next 8 weeks, we are thrilled to begin this journey in Singapore,» the statement said.
«Our upgraded retail platform, in addition to our new strategic banking partnership with Standard Chartered, aims to provide you with a seamless, safe, and convenient experience when trading digital assets.»
