HSBC’s integrated banking platform has partnered with a renowned esports player in the widely popular online game «League of Legends».
HSBC One – the British lender’s all-in-one banking platform – has partnered with esports player «Faker» and his part-owned «League of Legends» team «T1», according to a statement.
This follows the bank’s inaugural support for esports in Asia last year after collaborating with public relations firm MSL Hong Kong to launch the «Everybody Game On» platform to support teams in the city that were preparing to compete in the «Hangzhou Asian Games».
«Faker»
Lee Sang-hyeok, nicknamed «Faker», is widely regarded as the best competitor in «League of Legends» – a multiplayer online game with over 150 million active players. As part of the HSBC-sponsored event, he will make a visit to Hong Kong for the first time ever.
Customers of HSBC One will have the opportunity to visit T1’s headquarters in Seoul, experience personal gameplay coaching from professional trainers and purchase limited edition collaboration merchandise. They can also enter a lucky draw to win exclusive free tickets to meet T1 and witness the world champions in person.
HSBC One
HSBC One is a digital platform that has a comprehensive suite of capabilities including digital wealth management tools, online banking services and rewards.
«Millennials are one of the key customer segments of HSBC Hong Kong,» the bank said. «This collaboration of «HSBC One x T1» is to support and inspire the millennial generation to pursue their dreams with esports as the catalyst through a series of 'money-can’t-buy' experiences and promotional activities.»
