Charles River Development, a State Street-owned tech provider to investment managers, has announced the appointment of an Asia Pacific head.

Charles River Development has appointed Vin Bhat as senior vice president and head of Asia Pacific, according to a statement, primarily based in Singapore.

In the role, he will be responsible for all business oversight within the region and collaboration with State Street Alpha, a front-to-back asset servicing platform for institutional investors. In addition to his APAC responsibilities, he will also have client and commercial oversight of the Middle East and become chair of the newly formed Alpha APAC executive committee. 

25-Year Veteran

Bhat has over 25 years of experience, most recently as the head of the APAC business at FactSet Research Systems. Prior to that, he spent a decade at Mumbai-headquartered Tata Consultancy Services.

$59 Trillion in Assets

Charles River is a provider of investment management front office tools and solutions which was acquired by State Street in 2018. As of January 2024, the Charles River Investment Management Solution serves investment and wealth managers, asset owners and insurers in over 30 countries managing $59 trillion in assets. It helps automate and simplify the investment process, including portfolio management, risk analytics, trading and post-trade settlement.

Charles River serves clients in 10 regional offices and over the last five years, its headcount grew by more than 120 percent.
