Ex-Rothschild Banker Named Swiss Chief at British Asset Manager
The former Swiss Country Head at Rothschild & Co Asset Management is joining a specialized London-based asset manager, where he will take on responsibility for several markets.
Harrington Cooper, a London-based asset management specialist, appointed Gil Platteau as Managing Director for various markets, finews.asia has learned. Previously, Platteau served as Country Head Switzerland at Rothschild & Co Asset Management for a total of seven years over two tenures between 2013 and 2025.
In his new role, he will oversee Harrington Cooper's operations in Switzerland, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Monaco, assisting both hedge funds and traditional asset managers in establishing relationships with Swiss and European investors.
Diverse Leadership Roles
Platteau brings extensive experience from both the buy-side and sell-side, having held positions at leading Swiss institutions such as Barclays, Mercer Investments, BNP Paribas, as well as working in the Treasury and Pension Fund at F. Hoffmann-La Roche.

Partnership with Former Pictet Fund Manager
Recently, the company announced a partnership with Vigama Capital, a new Geneva-based hedge fund led by former Pictet fund manager Vincent Ijaouane. Vigama Capital is preparing to launch a European-focused, uncorrelated long/short equity UCITS fund.
