Credit Suisse Private Banking
Credit Suisse’s red packets spotlight the year of the ox with a customized print that creates the effect of textured velvet fur on its bull. The design is replete with symbolism including a Chinese character (福) on the ox’s chest to convey wealthy tidings to the recipient; green rolling hills to signify freedom and vast possibilities; and a gold-gilded outline for even more prosperity.
According to a spokesperson for the bank, clients have historically made requests for red packets not only to celebrate the new year but also for collection with the aim of completing a full 12-year cycle with all the zodiac animals.
Julius Baer
Inspired by Chinese porcelain, Julius Baer’s red packet design this year revolves around the ceramic arts with traditional decorative patterns and imagery representing various wishes for good fortune and longevity.
It features a key Chinese idiom (金玉滿堂 literally translated as «gold and jade fill the hall») which expresses wishes for abundant wealth. Spot UV treatment is applied to the text to mimic the tactile feel of a glazed porcelain dish.
