Singapore's premier art fair opens this Thursday with an exclusive VIP Preview, followed by the Vernissage. The official public opening is set for Friday. This year's ART SG features an impressive lineup of 105 galleries representing 30 countries and territories.
Running until 19 January 2025, the ART SG at Marina Bay Sands (pictured above) offers a dynamic daily program, including thought-provoking discussions, film screenings, immersive installations, performance art, guided tours, and curated exhibitions. Here are some highlights to look forward to:
ART SG Film: By Artists, on Artists
Art and cinema have long been intertwined, sharing a unique ability to probe the boundaries of perception, creativity, and expression.
For the 2025 ART SG Film Program, the fair celebrates this synergy through the theme of Films by Artists, Films on Artists, presenting a curated selection of works that explore the fertile terrain where the visual and cinematic arts intersect. Curated by Stefano Rabolli Pansera.
ART SG FILM is co-presented by the ArtScience Museum and is screened daily from 17 – 19 January at ArtScience Cinema, Level 4.
ART SG's Talks Program: ART SG Perspectives
ART SG PERSPECTIVES, supported by Axa XL, offers a diverse series of engaging discussions exploring a range of contemporary art themes and issues, from the intersection of performance and art, the current landscape of film and moving image practices, and more.
Led by director Aaron Cezar, Delfina Foundation (London) has collaborated with ART SG to create a series of programs around collecting, philanthropy, and creating private foundations. Talks take place in the ART SG Talks Theatre on Level 1 of the fair, daily from 17 – 19 January.
