In its newly opened office, LGT's team of over 10 investment advisers work with specialists from the firm's other entities. «We are always looking for very experienced employees,» Henri Leimer tells finews.asia

Henri Leimer, why did LGT choose Thailand for its expansion over other countries in the region?

In recent years, we have achieved encouraging growth in Asia and significantly increased our assets under management. As a well-established private bank in the region, we are always looking for ways to further strengthen our presence.

The opening of a wealth management office in Thailand was our next step in this direction. The Thai market is very interesting for us. We already have a customer base here. In addition, the market is growing rapidly and offers a lot of potential.

Thailand is also known for its politically unstable situation. Is this not a risk for LGT?

We do not see any extraordinary risks.

How big is the team in the Bangkok office and who leads it?

The new office in Bangkok is headed by Ekkapob Makeguljai, who has worked in various roles in the financial services and asset management sector for more than 16 years. The team currently consists of more than 10 local and international investment advisers who work with specialists from other LGT entities.

To strengthen our team, we are always looking for very experienced employees. In Thailand, we also attach great importance to ensuring that our employees have a good understanding of the local culture and language and understand the needs of our customers.

Where is the booking platform for future customers in Thailand?

Our customers in Thailand are looked after locally. They have access to all booking platforms in Asia and Europe.

What quantitative and qualitative goals have you set for Thailand?

Our ultimate goal is good care of our customers. We do not communicate quantitative goals.
