Global asset manager First State Investments bolsters its product capabilities with two appointments, including a hire from Nikko Asset Management’s Australia unit.
Hendrie Koster joins as the Sydney-based head of investment product and assurance. He was most recently the Australia head of product and strategy for Nikko AM. Previously, he had also worked with Mercer in Sydney and London.
First State also appoints Kerry Baronet as the London-based head of pooled fund management after most recently being the firm’s EMEA head of product.
Global Product Function
The two appointments are part of a broader global product function that was established in November last year to identify product development opportunities, according to a release. The unit is led by global head of product, Clare Wood.
«With these senior resources now in place, the global product function is well-equipped to take broader responsibility for connecting market opportunity with investment capability, ensuring we remain competitive in a complex global market,» Wood said.
