Nikko AM Names New Chief Investment Officer

Tokyo-headquartered fund firm Nikko Asset Management has named a new chief investment officer.

Nikko Asset Management has appointed Mark Stoeckle as chief investment officer (CIO), according to a statement. Effective April 1, he succeeds Hiroshi Yoh who will leave the Japanese asset manager at the end of the month to pursue his own personal ventures.

Stoeckle is currently an independent director for Nikko Asset Management and he is expected to step down from the board before taking on the new role. Previously, he was also CEO of Adam Funds and CIO for US and global sector equities at BNP Paribas Investment Partners.

«[Stoeckle's] deep investment management knowledge capital coupled with his leadership experience and the rapport he has already built with all of our senior management and investment management colleagues make him the best choice to support the ongoing refinement of the offering for our clients, and the progress of our global growth strategy,» said Stefanie Drews, president of Nikko Asset Management.
