The bank has announced several changes to its board.
DBS has appointed Olivier Lim as independent lead director, replacing incumbent Ho Tian Yee, who has been re-designated as a non-executive director, the bank announced on Tuesday.
Ho was appointed as the lead independent director and the chairman of the nominating committee (NC) in 2018, and has served for nine years as an Independent Director. He also steps down from the NC, with Tham Sai Choy taking over as chairman.
Lim was previously with CapitaLand from 2003 to 2014, serving as group deputy chief executive officer, group chief investment officer and group chief financial officer (CFO) during his career there. Between 1989 and 2003, he worked at Citibank Singapore in various roles in the corporate and investment banking units and was head of the real estate unit in his ultimate role.
Board Additions
These changes follow the appointments of two new independent directors, Anthony Lim, 61, and Punita Lal, 57, who joined the DBS Board in April.
Anthony Lim spent 19 years with GIC before retiring in 2017. He joined GIC as its president of the London office in 1998 and was appointed in 2009 as its president (Americas), based in New York. He was also a senior managing director at Bankers Trust, and previously worked for the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Lal has 30 years of experience in strategy, marketing and leadership in the consumer-packaged goods industry. Her prior experience includes working for Coca Cola in China, and PepsiCo in India.
