A seasoned private banking executive has joined Bank of East Asia – one of the last family-owned banks in Hong Kong – to lead its investment and advisory department, finews.asia learned.
Jaye Chiu has been named BEA's head of investment product and advisory across personal, corporate and institutional clients in its personal banking, private banking, corporate banking and mainland China business, finews.asia has learned.
When contacted, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed the new hire.
Prior to joining BEA, Chiu had 15 years of pure private banking experience and was most recently a managing director and Asia head of investment management for Canada’s BMO Private Banking. Previously, he had also worked with the likes of EFG, BNP Paribas, HSBC and UBS.
