Manulife Investment Management has announced the appointment of a new head of transactions and portfolio management for its real estate unit in the region.

Manulife Investment Management appoints Jessie Liu as head of transactions and portfolio management, real estate, private markets, Asia, according to a statement, succeeding the responsibilities of Kenny Lam who will leave the firm in June. 

Based in Hong Kong, Liu reports to Marc Feliciano, global head of real estate, private markets and join the global real estate leadership team.

Liu joined Manulife Investment Management in 2019 and has led and completed multiple investment transactions in key Asia markets across logistics, commercial and multi-family properties. Prior to joining Manulife, has held related senior roles at China Resources Land Private Equity and Yue Yuen Industrial.  Previously, she also worked in the real estate team of Blackstone and Merrill Lynch Real Estate Principal Investments.

Asian Real Estate

As of December 31, 2021, Manulife Investment Management’s real estate portfolio totaled 64  million square feet of office, industrial, retail, and multifamily space worldwide.  

Within Asia, it has made a number of real estate investments since the beginning of 2022 in markets like Vietnam and Japan.
