HSBC has announced the appointment of the newly created role of chief digital officer for the Southeast Asian region.
Shayan Hazir has been named chief digital officer for ASEAN at HSBC, according to a statement, and will be joining the Singapore executive management team. In the newly created role, Hazir is responsible for setting the digital strategy, operating model and performance standards for digital and innovation in the ASEAN region.
Based in the city-state, he reports to HSBC Singapore chief executive Kee Joo Wong.
Hazir has 18 years of experience and was most recently the bank’s head of global liquidity and cash management (GLCM) in Malaysia.
«Our creation of the new role of chief digital officer ASEAN and [Hazir’s] appointment demonstrate our commitment to supporting our clients’ in-market and international wealth and business aspirations with a holistic and integrated digital proposition,» Wong said.
