HSBC Asset Management’s alternatives division has completed the recruitment of its senior management team with the latest duo of appointments.
HSBC Asset Management appoints Victoria Sharpe as head of real assets, according to a statement, succeeding acting head and HSBC Alternatives chief executive Joanna Munro. Sharpe takes on the new responsibilities in addition to her existing role as head and chief investment officer real estate, APAC. Based in Singapore, she reports to Munro.
Sharpe joined HSBC in 2021 and prior to that, she led the APAC real estate business with DWS. Previously, she spent 16 years with PGIM as its APAC head of real estate following other senior roles at LaSalle Investment Management and Northern Trust.
Private Credit
In addition, HSBC Asset Management also named Scott McClurg as head of private credit within the alternatives division, effective October 1 and based in London.
McClurg joined HSBC in 2010 and is currently its head of leverage finance UK, middle market financial sponsors. Previously, he was also the head of energy & sustainability.
HSBC Alternatives
According to the statement, the latest hires complete the recruitment of the HSBC Alternatives' senior management team which also includes indirect alternatives (William Benjamin), venture capital (Remi Bourrette), responsible investment (Michelle Hilliman) and alternative solutions (John Dewey).
As of June 30 this year, the division had assets under management and advice totalling $57 billion with a 220-strong team.
