The US-based custodian announces the appointment of a new country leader for Australia.

Geoff Hodge has been named Australia country executive at BNY Mellon, according to a statement issued on Thursday, with the step subject to regulatory approvals.

When he assumes the role, both the Australia branch manager Alexis Walker and in-country functional leads will report to him.

Hodge has more than 30 years of experience in investment management, capital markets, payments, and fund administration across Europe, North America, and the Asia Pacific region.

Hodge will also continue to oversee global strategy as the head of Milestone Group, a Sydney-based fund management tech firm he founded in 1998 that was subsequently acquired by BNY Mellon in October 2021. As part of his new role, Hodge will also join the bank's Asia Pacific Leadership Council.
