Insurance giant Manulife has announced the appointment of a 20-year veteran from AIA to lead its efforts in marketing and experience design in Asia.
Harshal Shah joins Manulife as its chief marketing and experience design officer, Asia, according to a statement, effective October 17. Based in Hong Kong, Shah reports to Damien Green, president and chief executive, Asia, as well as Karen Leggett, global chief marketing officer. He will also join as a member of the firm’s Asia executive division committee and global leadership team.
In his new role, Shah will be responsible for Manulife’s marketing, brand, digital, and customer experience across Asia. He will also oversee customer insights, design, brand, data analytics, digital strategy, and ManulifeMOVE – an app-based insurance offering.
Shah has 20 years of experience in insurance and financial services, most recently at AIA Group where he was the director of its distribution impact office. Previously, he also held leadership roles at Aegon and Citibank.
