Credit Suisse has announced the appointment of a new chief compliance officer, succeeding Rafael Lopez Lorenzo.
Credit Suisse appoints Nita Patel as chief compliance officer, according to a statement, effective November 1 and reporting to group chief executive Ulrich Koerner.
Patel succeeds Rafael Lopez Lorenzo, who has decided to step down for family reasons. Lorenzo will be appointed a non-executive member of the board of Credit Suisse Bank (Europe), S.A. (CSEB) in Spain, subject to regulatory approval.
Patel was most recently the compliance chief of Credit Suisse’s asset management and UK investment banking units as well as a member of various key business and compliance committees. She joined the bank in 2021 from Goldman Sachs where she spent 18 years in different senior compliance roles across the asset management and markets divisions.
