Capital Group expands its fixed income unit with the hire of a former Janus Henderson executive for business development in Asia and Europe.
Capital Group appoints Scott Steele as its head of fixed income business development for Asia and Europe, according to a statement, tasked with distribution and product development for institutional and intermediary clients in the two regions.
In the newly created role, Steele reports to Alexandra Haggard, head of product and investment services for Asia and Europe.
Steele has over 30 years of industry experience, particularly in fixed income and distribution. Prior to joining Capital Group, he was the global head of fixed income client portfolio management at Janus Henderson Investors. Previously, he also held other leadership roles at PIMCO and BMO Mutual Funds.
Fixed Income AUM
In the last five years, Capital Group doubled its fixed income assets under management (AUM) to nearly $458 billion with the launch of several offerings in Asia and Europe including a total return bond strategy and a global corporate bond strategy.
Globally, the US asset manager has around $2.2 trillion in AUM, as of June 30 this year.
