The asset management arm of BNP Paribas has announced the appointment of a new Malaysia chief executive.
Daniel Choong joins BNP Paribas Asset Management as Malaysia CEO, according to a statement, subject to regulatory approval. Choong succeeds Angelia Chin-Sharpe who relocated to Singapore in August 2022 to take on a new role as Singapore CEO.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Choong will report to Chin-Sharpe.
Choong has over 26 years of financial experience, most recently as a managing director and head of distribution for abrdn in Malaysia. Previously, he also worked at ABN AMRO Asset Management (Singapore) and Nomura Islamic Asset Management Sdn. Bhd (Malaysia).
