Hong Kong-headquartered Value Partners has hired an ex-Ping An executive as its co-chief investment officer for fixed income.

Sean Chang joins Value Partners as co-CIO, fixed income, according to a statement, based in Singapore. Alongside Hong Kong-based fixed income co-CIO Gordon Ip, the two will report to co-chairman and co-CIO Louis So

Chang has 28 years of industry experience, most recently as head of fixed income at Ping An of China Asset Management (Hong Kong). Prior to joining Ping An, he was the head of Asia debt investment at Baring Asset Management (Asia). Previously, he also worked at Halbis Capital, Mirae Asset Global Investments, Hang Seng Investment Management, Invesco Asset Management Asia, HSBC Private Bank and HSBC Asset Management.

Value Partners was established in 1993 and became the first asset manager to list on the main board of Hong Kong's stock exchange in 2007. In addition to the Hong Kong headquarters, it has operations in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and London.
