Following William Huffman's appointment as CEO, the American asset manager had to find a new Head of Equities and Fixed Income. They found the right candidate within their ranks.

Saira Malik will become the Head of Equities and Fixed Income at Nuveen, the firm announced Thursday. Malik takes over the leadership position from William Huffman, who held this role until he was appointed CEO in June 2024.

«As a proven leader who has dedicated two decades of her career to the development and growth of Nuveen's platform, Saira is ideally suited to take on the leadership of the equities and fixed-income business.

With Nuveen Since 2003

«In this expanded role, Saira Malik will work closely with the talented leadership and teams managing over $1 trillion across equities, global bonds, munis, private market investments, multi-asset strategies, and C-PACE loans,» said CEO Huffman.

Malik joined Nuveen in 2003 and is currently the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and a member of the Senior Leadership Team. In this role, she drives weekly market and investment insights and delivers client asset allocations from all of the company's investment teams.

She also leads the Global Investment Committee (GIC), which brings together Nuveen's top investment leaders to provide clients with actionable portfolio allocation ideas.
